Budget Control

Take back control of your finances!

Freeman Software’s Budget Control module provides an alternative approach to budgetting. It can be used to supplement, or replace, a budgetting module from your Accounting Package if, for example, the categories recorded in your Accounts do not match your budgetting needs.

Freeman Software's Budget Control module stores three sets of financial data:

1. Budget Data. This is data set at the start of the year and contains the 'normal' budget data that you would expect. This does not change during the year,
2. Estimates. This is a more up to date prediction of your budgets. While the estimate 'should' closely match your annual budgets, this data is updated quarterly or monthly as your business expectations change. You are not required to save these Estimates if they do not suit your business.
3. Actuals. This is actual financial transaction data, recorded as it happens. Actual data can be entered off bank statements or from both incoming and outgoing invoices as required. This data shows the Actual financial position of your business at any moment in time.

Budget Maintenance

This screen is used to add and change Budget Categories. This screen is used to control the content and structure of your budgets.


Create your own Budget Categories and structure them to suit your business. There is no limit, within reason, to the number of categories or to the number of levels you store.

Budget Enquiry

This screen is used to view and check your Budget values. A similar screen is used to enter the Budget and Estimate values.


The period covered by the enquiry can be changed at will and will display each month's values across the screen. Budget Categories will appear down the screen.

Budget Export

This screen is used to control the export of your Budget Data. This is so that you can run comparisons and trend analysis in external tools of your choice.


The period covered by the export can be changed at will and the program will output each month's values across the file. Budget Categories will appear down the screen.
