Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of our more frequently asked questions...
Do you offer some kind of money back guarantee?
Yes we do. We offer a 90 Day Money Back Guarantee if the provided software solution/s do not meet your business needs. However, we see this as a final step and option with resolving a situation.
To avoid this, we take the time to ensure we understand your business needs fully; carefully and fully test the solution prior to roll out and installation; and closely work with you and assist you through the initial weeks with your new software solution/s. If, with all our best support and assistance through this, you still are not satisfied with our solution, we will happily refund your money for the solution purchased.
If I purchase a software solution, what kind of service will I get?
All our quotes and estimates include...
- The system installed at your office
- A complete set of manuals (Microsoft Word™ format)
- Setup and Training for up to 2 consecutive days at your office
Note, however, that you may be required to pay travel and accomodation if your business is based outside the area between Wellington and Hamilton in New Zealand. These will be charged at cost.
Who are your customers?
We currently provide software solutions to businesses throughout New Zealand.
Our largest customer is a leading New Zealand Manufacturer of fast moving consumer goods (FMCG). Amongst other approvals, the client has HACCP and FDA approval for their processes and products. They have 30-50 staff, depending on the season.
Our smallest customer is a private teacher who uses a custom-built diary system for scheduling classes and invoicing students.
What do I need to run this system?
For a single-user system all you need is a Computer running Windows XP™ or newer. The current system has been tested on Windows XP™, Windows Vista™ and Windows 7™. You will need a small amount of disk space to hold the program and database.
For a multi-user system you will need a Windows-based Server to hold the database and, preferably, the program itself. 'Client' computers must be Windows XP™ or newer. A single directory on the server must be mapped onto all your user's computers. You will need a small amount of disk space to hold the program and database.
Reporting is provided to Acrobat™ .pdf files so that all reports can be previewed prior to printing or emailing to your customers or suppliers. You will need the Acrobat reader for this.
What support do you offer?
When we install your new system we will provide considerable training, on site, and a current set of manuals.
With each upgrade we will provide full upgrade instructions, a change log detailing the changes included in the upgrade and a new set of manuals. We are available for phone support if required. On-site support for upgrades can be arranged.
Ongoing support is offered primarily by email. We will normally respond to emails within 24 hours. Telephone support is offered for really urgent issues or questions.
How do I install the system?
Freeman Software will install the software at a time convenient to you. You will be provided with training to suit your requirements and Freeman Software will set up some of the core system data.
What database should I use?
We prefer Microsoft SQL Server™ but the system has been tested on other databases. If you do not have a preference we will install Microsoft SQL Server Express™. While this database comes with quite a generous size limit, it can be upgraded if and when required.
How many users can use the system?
There is no inherent limit to the number of users that can use the system at the same time. However, if you are likely to have over 100 concurrent users we will need to pay special attention to the database and server used to run the system.
How many Customers, Stock Items and so on can the system record?
The system can hold up to 1 billion Customer records, 1 billion Stock Items, in fact 1 billion of each 'record type'. This is a huge number of records and other system limits will likely be reached before this. Freeman Software can increase the 1 billion record limit if required.
